Opennote raises an $850K pre-seed round to revolutionize education

After months of building, learning, and iterating, we're excited to announce that Opennote has officially raised an $850K USD pre-seed round led by Afore Capital, with participation from Sancus Ventures, Script Capital, Untitled Ventures, and an incredible group of angel investors.

We started Opennote as students, solving our own problem: in large classes, we didn’t get the personalized support we needed to truly understand the material. Learning felt one-size-fits-all — and we knew there had to be a better way. So we envisioned a platform that adapts to you, making learning more personal, interactive, and effective.

Since our launch in February 2025, Opennote has reached over 5 million people globally and 50,000+ users across 110+ countries — all through organic growth.

Now, with this funding, we’re doubling down on building a deeply personalized, AI-native learning platform. That means:

• Advancing specialized educational inference,
• Developing robust multimodal tools,
• And pioneering video generation that transforms how students engage with every subject — from calculus to comparative literature.

The education system hasn’t changed in centuries. It’s standardized, impersonal, and often leaves students behind. We’re here to change that — from the inside out.

This next chapter begins with a big leap: our team is heading to San Francisco, going all-in on building the future of learning — from the ground up.
