We started Opennote because we believe everyone is a natural learner.

Watch a five-year-old and you'll see it—pure curiosity in action. Asking "why" about everything. Making connections without being told to. That drive to understand is fundamentally human.

But somewhere along the way, most people learn to stop asking questions. School rewards right answers over good questions. "I don't know" becomes something to hide. Learning starts to feel like a chore.

And the tools don't help. Ideas scattered across a dozen apps—notes in Docs, research buried in tabs, good thinking lost in chat windows. AI that feels like a separate tool you visit, not a companion that actually understands your work.

So we're building something different.
